  • Describe how the mountain model differs from other evidence-based practice (EBP) and quality improvement (QI) frameworks
  • Generate a rationale statement for the need to disseminate EBPQI initiatives to shorten the research to practice gap
  • Develop examples of how you might apply the mountain model in your current role as a nurse

Speaker Bios:

Julee B. Waldrop, DNP, FNP, PNP, SANE-A, CNE, FAANP, FAAN
Julee Waldrop has been a nurse since 1985 and a practitioner since 1991. She is also a teacher and scholar, teaching nursing since 1994. She loves helping a student or practicing NP enter the scholarly realm by presenting at a conference or publishing a paper. Julee is also a fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of nursing and serves as editor in chief of The Journal for Nurse Practitioners.

Jayne Jennings Dunlap, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, CNE, EBP-C
Jayne Jennings Dunlap, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, CNE, EBP-C is a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner at Baylor Scott and White Health and Associate Clinical Professor at Texas Women's University in Houston, Texas. Jayne recently completed a DNP Postdoctoral Fellowship in Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) through the Fuld Institute for EBP in Nursing and Healthcare. Her scholarship interests surround timely treatment provision for special populations, strategies to reduce evidence to practice gaps and nursing faculty scholarship standards.
