Strategies to Promote Clinical Thinking in Clinical - Online Course


Accreditation:  Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Participants will be presented with a variety of strategies to promote critical thinking skills in pre-licensure nursing students from their first clinical semester to their last. In partnership with the QSEN Task Force: Academic Clinical Practice.

Learning Outcomes

  • Define critical thinking, clinical judgment, and clinical reasoning. Review theory and framework supporting development of critical thinking skills in pre-licensure nursing program.
  • Identify critical thinking strategies to incorporate in the clinical setting fro beginner, intermediate, and advanced nursing students.
  • Identify critical thinking strategies for post-conference activities.
