Healthcare professionals are mandated to protect and uphold all standards of healthcare practice. This course begins by exploring professional position statements in an organization and continues with a pragmatic discussion of the practical considerations a clinician may encounter when dealing with individual, context-specific, and ethical challenges.
Judith Hold, EdD, RN, teaches undergraduate nursing courses including professionalism and ethics, and palliative and end-of-life care at Kennesaw State University. She has been a nurse educator for 30 years in addition to practicing in diverse nursing fields. Hospice nursing, centering on the elderly, however, has been her prime and most recent interest.
Dr. Hold has a doctorate degree in Instructional Leadership from The University of Alabama. Her dissertation research focused on ethics, death and dying, and nursing education from a feminist and critical social theory lens. Dr. Hold’s current research efforts continue to center on ethics and end-of-life care.
